Everything set in places nicely. Except that Jayanta still didn't get his room. Poor Jayanta didn't get to sleep last night. After he dropped us at Alipurduar from Mathura, he had to go to Siliguri driving an ambulance & from there he came straight to pick us up in the morning.
The chowkidars made our beds, arranged mosquito nets, blankets & everything.
3 nice rooms were all ready. I even gave them 20 rupees. But they were still hesitant to provide Jayanta his bed. Anyway, he was sleeping in his car.
It was one of the reasons I didn't drive to Alipurduar to bring our night dresses, toothpaste etc. Making a tired driver drive overtime generally invites accident. Like all of us he also needs rest.
But we didn't care for night dresses or paste or things like that.
But somebody cared.
People at Aloporeduar cared. They thought we'll have bad breath when we meet them the next morning.
No amount of persuation from our end over cellphone could made them agree in our nightstay here.
I even send the chicken curry smell over phone- but Chanchalda/Sumanda were vegeterians.
Even Priyanka lost her talent of persuation in the maze of dry data of prescription/family survey.
So we had to go.
Gave tips to the cook while he was still cooking. Asked him to have all the chicken. But I could see that he was not happy. No cook is happy when the guest leaves without tasting the meal.
Woke up Jayanta & leaving the chowkiders & cook bewildered we left.
We reached Alipurduar at about 11.
We knew where to find food.
The same रोटी तरका . The same & only place that was still opened for us.
Jonaki had wit enough to bring some chichen curry smell in a carry pack . But much smell was lost in osmosis process.( you need a metal container to carry smell/odour )

Surprise!!!
there was a mattress. A rug. And a small net.
Ladies to the small net. The rug as their bed sheet. & the mattress for us.
But, you know, it is almost impossible to sleep 4 people inside one net. besides Parikshit can not sleep straight.
I should have kicked them out from MY net.
But छोर दिया। बच्चा हैं।
